The Baker House offers a delightful mixture of Southern hospitality and Victorian elegance in the vibrant setting of the Argenta Historic District of North Little Rock. As well as providing its guests a large variety of local attractions within walking distance, the Baker House is the only bed and breakfast located on the River Rail Trolley Line that serves downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock, including the Little Rock River Market Entertainment District, Clinton Presidential Library, Statehouse Convention Center, and Verizon Arena.
Named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, this gem of Argenta is adorned with ornate curly pine woodwork, a central circular staircase and elaborate oak mantels. A full homemade breakfast is served daily in the dining room.
The Argenta district offers some of the finest dining and entertainment options in Central Arkansas, including Ristorante Capeo - consistently one of the top Italian restaurants in the region and conveniently located across the street from the Baker House. For a more casual option, Starving Artists' Cafe is a chef-driven restaurant featuring local artists' works for sale; it is less than a block away from the Baker House.
The Baker House Bed & Breakfast is owned by Scott & Sonja Miller, proud residents of the Argenta Historic District. The Baker House is managed by its Innkeeper, Guy Mayhan, who resides on the property and is available on a 24-hour basis. The Baker House was purchased by Scott and Sonja in 2005 and after updating the landscaping and furniture they reopened the Baker House as a bed and breakfast after a 2-year hiatus. Scott and Sonja, who live one block from the Baker House, visit the property daily and are always available to each of the Baker House's guests.
